Today’s cat of the week is Caspian. Caspian was brought onto the main floor today, yowling and growling and very unhappy. Instead of putting him into his condo right away, we put him in a get acquainted room for awhile. He found the kitten tube and made himself at home.
Despite first impressions, Caspian is an extremely sweet and loveable boy. When I went in to pet him, he came out of the tube and sat next to me on the couch. He let me pet him and purred. He was very chill and, while not necessarily a lap cat, will make someone a fantastic companion.
In other news, the shelter I volunteer at, Monterey SPCA rescued over 100 animals from horrific neglect. I saw the images on the news and was horrified. The poor animals didn’t have access to food and are incredibly emaciated. The barn at the shelter is asking for volunteers to come down and help bottle feed the calves they found. I hope to be able to help out sometime this week.
Monterey SPCA is an independently run shelter that is not connected to other SPCAs and does not receive government funding. If you would like to help out, please go to http://www.spcamc.org/donate/ to donate.
I am hoping to get back to regularly posting both cat of the week and book reviews soon. School is starting soon, too, so I may post about that, too.
